QCS - Quick Cargo Service predicts further expansion
Frankfurt-based freight forwarder QCS - Quick Cargo Service enjoyed a very successful 2011, reports CEO Dieter Haltmayer.
At 49 million euros (US$65.7 million), revenue was up by 11.5 percent over 2010. The cornerstone of this success, he noted, was the 32,000 tons of air frieght exports handled by the cargo agent – up by 14.1 percent year-on-year.
While exports were very strong, import volumes did fall by 3 percent year-on-year. “Despite this slight setback on the import side, our overall tonnage was well above market average,” says managing director Stephan Haltmayer.
Looking forward, Dieter Haltmayer is expecting further growth this year. QCS is intending to grow its business in India, in particular, the forwarder working with local, Mumbai-based partner Flyjack.
East Asia will be another priority, especially the China, Hong Kong and taiwan markets, whileo ther business in Russia, Australia and New Zealand are also expected to be expanded.
Facility improvements will also be made, such as an extra 3,000m2 of warehouse space expected to be leased at QCS’s Frankfurt headquarters.
