Swissport signs up carriers at Schiphol
Zurich airport-based Swissport Cargo Services has inked two new deals covering freight handling at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Swissport will this month (August) begin processing the cargo of Air China’s daily B747-400 freighter services that fly into the Dutch capital, as well as the trucked freight brought into the airport by Turkish Airlines. The cargo that the latter flies into Schiphol will be handled by Swissport from September.
John Batten, executive vice president for global cargo at Swissport International, describes them as “two quality airlines", adding: "These new partnerships will provide a further significant boost to our volumes and consolidate our position in Amsterdam."
The managing director for Swissport Cargo Services in the Netherlands, Jos Roeven, pointed out that “these wins are a culmination of several months of hard and successful work by our team at Amsterdam, and we will strive to fulfill and exceed their expectations and continue to improve our performance".
